Mafia Wars for iPhone/iPod by Zynga
About 50% of my Facebook's daily status updates from friends include the very popular application called Mafia Wars. Zynga, the makers of the game released an iPhone/iPod version last month and being a FREE download, it quickly became popular on the AppStore charts as well. While I've never played the Facebook version that much, I honestly enjoyed the iPod Touch version because of its simplicity and depth. Download and install the game on your device and you'll soon find out that you've wasted several minutes of your precious time--its that addictive! The idea for the game is to level up, earn other players' respect and become the best at your Mafia family. The only drawback is that Mafia Wars for iPhone/iPod requires an internet connection for you to play all its features. There are about 793,000+ people playing when I last logged on and it goes to show how huge the Mafia Wars community is considering its just been out for over a month. Mafia Wars was released just at the right time when Apple's pushing its "micro transactions" and "peer to peer" OS 3.0 features because it lets you purchase reward points from w/in the app and it lets you play with your friends online. Try the game (its very addictive!) but don't say I didn't warn you! :)
