So where do you find your inspiration?

One of my favorite mags--Computer Arts Projects

A lot of people ask me this question almost everyday. As someone who's career focuses more on graphics and design, I honestly find my drive and inspiration from almost everything I can see and get my hands on. Whether it be an ant crawling on the window sill or a bonsai tree growing in our backyard--I believe inspiration can be found anywhere! As an artist and game designer, I find a lot of inspiration by looking at other forms of art and other artists' work. I surf the web for an hour a day to keep me abreast on the latest technologies and games, I constantly buy magazines and comic books to keep the artistic flow coming in, and play video games almost every single day to get more ideas on what other games have to offer. I just realized now that the only time I'm idle is when I'm asleep. And sometimes I even dream of cool ideas I can incorporate in my work! The game industry is a fast changing industry, those who are left behind are likely not to succeed. If you're a budding game or graphic designer, my only advice is to expose yourself on a lot of related media and games--experience plays an important role on one's success.
